Hello!

Thanks for visiting. My name is Melanie Joy Tabroff, and I'm a Product Designer based in NYC. I’ve spent the past 2 years working as a UX/UI designer and researcher at various startups. Most recently I worked at TrialSpark, a biotech company using technology to run end-to-end clinical trials. I love learning about new industries and collaborating with teams to solve interesting problems.

Quick facts

  • I’m a virgo.
  • My academic background is in biology and cognitive psychology, which has largely influenced my ability to think in first principles and bring empathy to my design process.
  • Running is my daily zen.
  • I like to draw people.
  • Designing Your Life by Bill Burnett & Dave Evans inspired me to pivot my career and pursue product design. My takeaways: be curious, reframe problems as opportunities, and don't be afraid to ask for help.
  • Advice from my most recent design manager that has resonated with me comes from Intercom’s blog: what you ship is what matters, and a product designer’s job is to ship product, not design.
